Dr Erik Gelke

ABOUT THE PERSON

Erik Gelke studied law at the University of Cologne. He then worked as a research assistant at the Munich Institute for Copyright and Media Law. He completed his doctorate under Prof Dr Manfred Rehbinder at the University of Freiburg on a copyright topic.

 

Erik Gelke has been admitted to the bar since 2012. Before joining LLR’s Cologne office in 2023, he worked for a leading international intellectual property law firm in Düsseldorf and a national commercial law firm in Cologne specialising in commercial, distribution and corporate law. Since 2013, Erik Gelke has been a lecturer at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, where he teaches students about media law.

 

He provides comprehensive advice on commercial and corporate law as well as media law. He specialises in advising national and international companies on contracts. Erik Gelke also regularly represents his clients in court in contentious disputes. He also has many years of experience in advising on high-profile campaigns.

 

When Erik Gelke is not working, he spends time with family and friends, preparing for triathlons or playing music – preferably on the bass or trombone.
